About Centenary

Centenary is a 12 berth Narrowboat for youth organizations to hire at affordable rates for weekends or longer periods. It is an invaluable resource for developing teamwork and co-operation in young people. Special Needs groups can also use the boat.

It has a gas cooker (four rings, grill and oven) and fridge, two toilets and a shower. There is a hot water and heating system. Four bunk beds are available in a forward cabin, four more in an aft cabin. The two dinettes fore and aft of the galley convert to two double beds.

All cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery is provided. Hirers must provide their own food and bedding.

The water supply will need refilling every day at canal side taps provided for this purpose. The toilets have holding tanks which will need pumping out at a boatyard during longer trips.
Mooring equipment and keys for working the locks are provided. Gas and fuel should last the trip without replenishment. Lifejackets are provided.

The boat is licensed for use on the canals. If agreed with the Administrator (extra training may be needed), use on rivers will require the user to buy an additional licence
